When I first arrived at LIFE'S PaLEtt, I was in a sad state. I suffered from Fibromyalgia, type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, severe osteoarthritis and high blood pressure.

Always exhausted and in constant pain, my life seemed to be an ongoing downward spiral to nowhere. The world had become a small, miserable place around my own head, and my mental and physical muscle tone was pathetic. Overworked and overflowing with input I did not want and could not cope with, something inside me sent me to David and Mariel Flannagan on the Isle of Wight, in the UK.

After five BST sessions and the following of some sound advice on nutrition - including Omega oils - I began to see a marked difference, and people around me asked me if I had had a facelift – well yes, I had – but via my brain!

On Mariel’s advice, I am taking amino acids sublingually. I began to do so halfway through the sessions and found a marked difference in my performance. The amino acids help to build cells/neurons, so I suppose it makes excellent sense to give them help in a way that is so easily assimilated.

I decided to stay for more sessions. My boss complained bitterly about the time I was away. I was able to see by then, that a boss who expected me to put the company before my health was not a boss worth having, so I resigned and immediately knew that I had done the right thing.

After fourteen extended sessions, I do not recognise myself. It is not that I am back to what I was when I was strong, it is that mentally, I have never been this strong or this focused. My determination and will power amaze even me.

Physically, my stomach muscles are carrying me properly, something they have not been able to do since I got a belly full of silicon mesh to repair a massive hernia. My pain levels have gone down to about 30% of what they were and I do not take beta blockers for the first time in 20 years (Hallelujah!!)

My weight (a bouncing 108 kilos) no longer bothers me. It will go in its own time, and I KNOW now that it will. My brain is thin, my body will follow.

I walk more upright and am washing windows for the first time in my life. I washed all the LIFE'S PaLEtt windows as an expression of how grateful I felt. Mariel says I can come back anytime the windows are dirty. I think I will.

In an hour, I am leaving to return to South Africa. It will be interesting to see the reactions of my friends and family to the NEW, IMPROVED me!

Most of all, I now have something back that I desperately wanted, and that has carried me through the most difficult times of my life – my God-given sense of humour!!
